Meanwhile, National Disaster Management Authority on Tuesday issued guidelines for Mumbai residents after the city faced heavy rains. A flood-like situation has been created in Mumbai, adjoining Navi Mumbai and Thane regions due to rains, creating disruption in daily life. Rain havoc has caused delay of suburban train services and left vehicles crawling through water-logged roads in low-lying areas. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BMC officials have asked people to step out only if necessary. NDMA too issued a list of Dos and Dont’s for the residents via a Tweet. The central disaster management agency tweeted, “Do not drive through flood affected areas. Stay safe indoors as much as possible. Plan your travel. Help each other.”
