Mumbai rain: Heavy showers lash city, Konkan region

Heavy to very heavy rainfall predicted in the next 24 hours in the entire Konkan region, including Mumbai

Train services in suburban areas of Mumbai are running 10-15 minutes behind their schedule, after the heavy showers lashed the city in the last 24 hours.

However, no water-logging incident was reported so far, according to PTI.

Mumbai recorded 6.42mm of torrential rains from 8-11am today, with eastern suburbs getting 2.60mm rainfall and western suburbs recorded 3.94mm.

Areas such as Colaba (south Mumbai) received a minimum rainfall of 60.8 mm while Santacruz (western suburbs) recorded 77mm rainfall, predicted the Regional Meteorological Centre in Mumbai.

It also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours in the entire Konkan region, including Mumbai.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had earlier mentioned that the current rainfall was not enough for the city to get water supply in the catchment areas. At present, 20 percent cute has been imposed in the water supply in the city.
