Call it a mere coincidence or something else, Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai has seen as many as five deadly fire accidents in last 20 days. With the latest one occurring today in South Mumbai’s Fort area, the other four incidents have resulted in deaths of more than 30 people. The incidents have taken place at Kamala Mills compound, Mamoon Manzil building at Marol, Sessions Sourt in Fort, Cinevista studio in East Mumbai and a snack shop in Saka Naka area.

Session Court fire, Fort (8 January, 2018)
A fire at Fort’s sessions court building was reported on Monday. As per the officials, the first call was made around 7.50 this morning. Five fire engines were rushed to the spot. No causalities or injuries reported so far.
Cine Vista film studio, Kanjurmarg (January 6, 2018)
A massive fire broke out at a film studio in suburban Kanjur Marg (West) on Saturday. The fire broke out at Cine Vista studio on LBS Road at around 8 pm. On person, who was reported to be a technician, lost his life in the incident. The studio is a ground-plus-one structure. As per officials, Electrical wiring inside the studio caught fire first.
Mamoon Building, Marol (January 4, 2018)
Four people lost their lives in a fire that took place in Mamoon Building, a residential building in suburban Marol. The Mumbai Fire Brigade got call at 2.10 am about fire at the fourth floor of Ground plus Mamoon Manzil building at Marol in Andheri East. A total of nine people were injured of which four were declared brought dead by the nearby hospital. The people who were dead were identified as Sakina Kapasi, Mohin Kapasi, Tasleem Kapasi and Dawood Kapasi.
Fire at Snack Shop, Saki Naka (18 Dec, 2017)
A massive fire broke out at a snack shop in Saki Naka-Kurla area here on December 18. 12 people were killed in the incident, while several others were injured. The blaze erupted in the shop at Makaria Compound on Khairani Road around 4.25 am following which the structure collapsed. The persons who were working inside got trapped and were declared brought dead at a nearby hospital.
Kamala Mills fire (Dec 29, 2017)
A fire at Mumbai’s Kamala Mills compound claimed 14 lives on December 29. The fire broke out shortly after midnight on the third floor of the four-storeyed building on Senapati Bapat Marg, a commercial hub of the city. The fire which started from Mojo Bistro club at the top floor, spread to 1 Above, situated a floor below.
