1: In a major setback to Dera Sacha Sauda, the Haryana government has said it has put on hold Rs 51 lakh announced for the sect, as per a PTI report. The report said that in a statement, Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, on Friday, said Rs 51 lakh out of his discretionary funds quota to ‘Khel Gaon’ of Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa, stood withdrawn, keeping in view the verdict delivered by a CBI court convicting Ram Rahim Singh on August 25 in the rape cases.
2: In another bad news for Dera, its spokesperson Dilawar Insan was sent to police custody on Friday for seven days by a court in Panchkula, reported PTI quoting Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Panchkula, Manbir Singh. Dilawar was arrested on Thursday for allegedly inciting violence after the conviction of its chief in the rape cases.
3: Search for Honeypreet Insan, adopted daughter of Ram Rahim Singh, and Aditya Insan, a key Dera functionary, has been intensified. Panchkula Police Commissioner A S Chawla said that they are likely to be arrested soon.
4: An FIR was lodged in Panchkula police station following the direction of the Punjab and Haryana High Court after a statement by a newspaper reporter against Aditya Insan and Surinder Dhiman Insan. The duo had been booked for sedition.
5. After being sentenced for 20 years in rape cases, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh will reportedly appear before a CBI special court in Panchkula for hearing in two murder cases against him on Saturday.
