Eastern Rajasthan is poised for a significant increase in monsoon activity, with heavy rains expected in the Kota and Udaipur divisions over the next four to five days, according to a spokesperson from the Meteorological Department (MeT).

Low-Pressure Systems Boosting Rainfall

A low-pressure area formed over Chhattisgarh and the surrounding Vidarbha region on Tuesday, contributing to the active monsoon conditions. Additionally, another low-pressure area is anticipated to develop in the Bay of Bengal around July 18, further enhancing rainfall across the region. The monsoon trough line is currently passing through parts of southern Rajasthan, indicating continued wet weather.

Forecast for Heavy Rains

The MeT department forecasts heavy rains in certain areas of the Kota and Udaipur divisions, particularly on July 17-18, with the possibility of very heavy downpours. Furthermore, some rainfall is expected to extend into the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan, with significant precipitation anticipated in the Jodhpur division on July 17 and the Shekhawati region on July 18.

Residents in affected areas are advised to remain vigilant as the monsoon progresses, and local authorities are on alert to manage any potential impacts from the heavy rainfall.
