India has been on the receiving end of continuous attacks from terrorists across Pakistan and with the Uri attack at the Indian Army camp, things went south as Indians lost all their patience towards peace talks and dialogues, which till now had been the top priority. So, as a reaction to the ghastly act PM Narendra Modi cancelled attending the SAARC Summit in Islamabad next month, External affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj hit back at Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif loud and clear at the UN General Assembly, political parties have been demanding a ban on all artistes from Pak and the Indian Army, within it’s powers carried out surgical strikes at terrorist launchpads at LoC.

The revelation was made by Indian Army’s Director General Military Operations (DGMO) Lt Gen Ranbir Singh and Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Vikas Swarup as they jointly addressed a media conference today. The conference was held after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to discuss the situation at LoC.

And as soon as the DGMO announced the big counter taken by the Army, social media went into a frenzy. With occupying the top trends at Twitter to drawing support towards the Modi Government, the Twiteratti made sure that the World know’s what’s up. While the hashtag #ModiPunishesPak heaped praise on the quick action taken NaMo and how he has silenced all his critics who had questioned his inactivity, the hashtag #IndianArmy was all salutes for the brave commandos. But not just this, #SurgicalStrike and #DGMO were also on the top 10 trends of India trends signifying how big and relevant the news is.

With the Indian users standing in full support of the way Army has stood up to infiltration and terrorism, this also shows hope for further stronger retaliation by India if Pakistan doesn’t stop.

While no Indian causalities were reported in the strikes that happened on Thursday night as India hit back at the ceasefire violations, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has retorted back saying, ‘We condemn this attack. Don’t take our peaceful intent for weakness’.
