Modi Davos Speech: It was a proud moment for every Indian as PM Narendra Modi addressed the plenary session at WEF Davos 2018. PM Narendra Modi addressed the gathering at the Opening Plenary. Most importantly, PM Modi addressed the gathering in our very own and proud mother tongue i.e. Hindi language. Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to share that Indian delegation broke into applause after PM Modi chose to speak in Hindi. “Indian delegation breaks into applause as @PMOIndia chooses to speak in Hindi. He’s in his element & connects with the audience by making humorous comments on the changing times. Xi Jinping certainly didn’t do that..if you’re looking for differences between India & China!,” Anand Mahindra tweeted. Addressing the gather, PM Modi said, “I am happy to be in Davos to address the @wef. This Summit seems to find solutions to the various problems the world faces. I thank the people and Government of Switzerland for the warm welcome here.”

In another tweet, Anand Mahindra tweets and praised PM Modi, saying, “Very astutely, @pmoindia breaks into English phrases when appropriate. ‘Reform, Perform, Transform’ is his slogan, he says. It’s what this global audience wants to hear..”

Also, PM Modi said that protectionism is gaining ground and globalisation is losing its attractiveness.


PM Modi is leading a big government and business delegation to the summit in Davos, the first Indian prime minister do so in 21 years, aiming to showcase India as a fast-growing economic power and a potential driver of global growth.
