Modi Cabinet reshuffle 2016: PM Narendra Modi’s instructions to all the 19 newly inducted ministers are crisp and clear – hit the ground running! PM Modi met the newly inducted team of ministers today, soon after they were sworn in, and told them to start work immediately.
According to reports, the Prime Minister is believed to have asked the ministers to stop celebrating, prepare for the Monsoon session of Parliament and to visit their respective constituencies after August 15.
PM Modi today welcomed the newly inducted members of the Union Council of Ministers. “Congrats to newly sworn-in colleagues. Lets work together to bring a positive difference & for #TransformingIndia,” Modi tweeted.
The 19 ministers that have been inducted into the Union Council of Ministers are: P P Chaudhary, Subhash Ramrao Bhamre, MJ Akbar, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Anil Madhav Dave, Ramesh Jigajinagi, Parshottam Rupala, Jasvantsinh Bhabhor, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Vijay Goel, Anupriya Patel, Mansukh Mandaviya,, Rajen Gohain, C R Chaudhary, Ajay Tamta, Ramdas Athawale and Krishna Raj.
Five ministers have been dropped from the Union Council of Ministers. These are Nihalchand, Ram Shankar Katheria, Sanwar Lal Jat, Manuskhbhai D Vasva and M K Kundariya.
One big takeaway from the Cabinet expansion and reshuffle is the elevation of Prakash Javadekar from MoS (Independent charge) to Cabinet minister.
This is the second cabinet expansion and reshuffle exercise by the NDA government since it came to power in 2014.
