Delhi MCD election results 2017: With initial trends showing a massive victory for the BJP in the MCD election results Wednesday, Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari exuded confidence that results will give major thrust in transforming the national capital, according to India Today report. He also pitched that under his leadership, the party will continue to take forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream for Delhi. During the media interaction, he touched upon an array of issues and took a dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Notably, minutes before the beginning of counting of votes, Tiwari performed ‘puja’ this morning.

Here are key extracts from Manoj Tiwari’s media interaction:

1. Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation: Manoj Tiwari has demanded Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation. “If results go along the current trend, Arvind Kejriwal should resign as chief minister of Delhi, ” he was quoted as saying by India Today. Asked whether, he sees himself as the next Delhi chief minister, Tiwari laughed in an attempt to evade the question. “I am Delhi BJP chief and that is a huge honour by itself. I am very happy as the Delhi chief,” he said.
