Bahujan Samaj Party supremo hit out at the expelled party leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui by saying that he used to blackmail people for money, reported news agency ANI. Addressing the media on Thursday evening Mayawati said she gave Siddiqui responsibility for western UP but received complaints against him. “I gave Naseemuddin Siddiqui responsibility for western UP in elections but people came & told me that he is a very big blackmailer,” she was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.
She added that Naseemuddin used to scare people for money and was warned by her many times. Mayawati said she had asked Siddiqui to submit the details of members’ diary but didn’t get any reply till 9th May after which she decided to expel him from the party. Talking about the tapes that were released by the former BSP leader, Mayawati said they were doctored.

Earlier in the day, Naseemuddin Siddiqui accused Mayawati of having called Muslims ‘gaddar’, reported ANI. “Me and my son have been expelled from the party based on false allegations. Mayawati ji ne mujhe bula kar poocha ki Musalmano ne BSP ko vote kyun nahi diya? Unhone kaha gaddar hain (Mayawati ji approached me and asked why Muslims didn’t vote for BSP. She said they are traitors),” he was quoted saying by the agency. Naseemuddin was removed from the party along with his son Afzal after which he had said, “Whatever charges have been levelled against me, applies to her (Mayawati) and I can prove those with evidence”.
BSP General Secretary and Rajya Sabha member S C Mishra said, “Naseemuddin and his son Afzal have been expelled from the party. He has a partnership in a number of slaughter houses and ‘benami’ properties in his name. He also took money during assembly polls due to which party had to suffer defeat.”
