Ahead of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, BJP finds itself in yet another controversy, when their vice-president in the state, Daya Shankar Singh called former state chief minister Mayawati “worse than a prostitute” while talking to the media on Wednesday.
Amid shocking political discourses by BJP’s loose canons, Dayashankar Singh has now viciously accused Mayawati of selling election tickets.
BJP has 15 vice presidents in Uttar Pradesh, Daya Shankar Singh being one of them. He was a general secretary of the party in the state and had lost legislature council elections in June.
Watch: Will this be Mayawati’s ‘Chaiwala’ moment?
“[Mayawati] gives ticket to someone who offers one crore till sombody else offers more, then she sells the ticket to that person. Now if someone gives her 3 crore then she will sell it to that person,” he told the media, and went on to call her characterless.
While Congress has asked for an arrest of the leader, Mayawati slammed the derogatory comment and said, “I respect all my brothers and am shocked by such crude remarks. This is a fight of ideologies and I have never used such a filthy language.”
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley expressed personal regret over the remark. “It is not right, and if a person has used this word, then we will investigate. I stand with you,” Jaitley said.
“I don’t know what he (Dayashankar) has said. If anything objectionable is found, party will deliberate on it. said Keshav Maurya, BJP UP party chief .
