Days after horrific violence that erupted following the conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a rape case by a special CBI Court at Panchkula, Zora Singh, the in-charge of sect’s center at Salabatpura was arrested on Thursday, said a senior Punjab Police official. According to Bathinda Zone IG, MS China, Zora Singh was among those accused of triggering violence in Bathinda after Ram Rahim’s conviction, as per a PTI report. Taking note of it, Zora Singh has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including sedition, said China. Now, Singh will be produced before a court in Bathinda tomorrow, said the report quoting China. However, there was no clue about where the godman’s adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan was.
Meanwhile, following the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the Haryana police and paramilitary forces are all ready to enter the Dera headquarters at Sirsa tomorrow to exercise the “sanitisation” process of Dera headquarters. The order of crackdown on headquarters of Dera by the High Court came a day after a huge cache of guns and ammunition were recovered from the premises. According to PTI, preparation for sanitising Dera headquarter has been made. The sanitization process will be overseen by the Court Commissioner. Haryana police personnel, paramilitary forces, duty magistrates, executive magistrates and revenue officials will also be part of the exercise. Dera headquarters in Sirsa is spread over around 800 acres. It houses educational institutions, markets, hospital, stadium and houses.
Amid all this, police are still clueless about the location of Honeypreet, who is considered to be the closest associate of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Honeypreet was seen accompanying Gurmeet in the helicopter, while he was being ferried to Rohtak from Panchkula after a special CBI court convicted him in the rape cases on August 25. She had also accompanied Ram Rahim when he was brought to the special court for the pronouncement of the verdict in the 15-year-old rape cases. However, now sudden disappearance has surprised many.
