A massive fire erupted in a factory in Delhi’s Budhpur Alipur area on Monday (March 25) morning. According to the officials of the Delhi Fire Service department, as many as 34 fire engines were rushed to the spot to douse the leaping flames.

“A fire broke out at a factory in Alipur. 34 fire tenders at the spot,” the Fire Services Department informed. It is suspected that the fire started due to a short circuit, they said.

“We got a call related to fire at 6.15 am. Total 34 fire tenders were pressed into service. Fire is in an oil godown. Fire engulfed a large area,” DFS chief Atul Garg said.

“By the time the firefighting operation started, the blaze had spread across the oil godown and to a neighbouring building, which houses a godown of Whirlpool company,” the official said.

Officials are currently working to contain the fire, and fortunately, there have been no reported casualties or injuries resulting from the incident.
