After undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is back in his home state after being discharged on Thursday morning. A PTI report suggests that he will be seen back in action today itself. As per the report, Parrikar is likely to present the state budget today. He is expected to reach the Goa Legislature Assembly in time to present the state budget. Earlier, Congress MLA Isidore Fernandes informed the Goa Assembly that Parrikar landed in Goa on a special flight at 11.55 am today after which he headed towards his residence.

Michael Lobo, Deputy speaker, expressed his delight over Parrikar’s recovery and said that it seems like all the prayers have been heard. He also lauded the strong willpower of the state chief minister. Notably, Parrikar was being treated for a pancreatic ailment – “inflamed pancreas”, in Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital from February 15.

However, even during his treatment, Goa chief minister is reported to have replied to some queries in the Assembly through written responses. It is worth mentioning here that BJP MLA Francis D’Souza was made the leader of the BJP in Parrikar’s absence.
