Malayalam actor Dileep, who is under judicial remand in connection with the February 17 actress attack case, had moved second bail application before the Kerala High Court today. As per Asianet news this afternoon, Dileep’s counsel reiterated that he has no connections with the prime accused Pulsar Suni. He reiterated that the actor has not even seen or met Pulsar Suni, who is the main accused in the conspiracy to attack the actress and that this is a conspiracy hatched against the actor by some prominent members of the film industry.

It was pointed out before the Kerala High Court that the actor has not tried to influence any one in this case and had fully cooperated with the police though he has been arrested and kept in judicial remand for over a month without any evidence. The legal counsel pointed out that Dileep is also a producer, a film distributor, and a theater owner, due to which he is facing a loss of Rs.50 crore as his films are pending release.

What marks Dileep’s second bail plea as a different one is that there seems to be a clear shift in strategy since the actor has replaced his previous counsel with a new one before moving the bail plea for the second time. Senior advocate Raman Pillai is now representing the actor as legal counsel in place of K. Ramkumar. The film industry is looking forward to Dileep being let out on bail so that his pending films can finally be released. Eminent director Adoor Gopalakrishnan and producer Suresh Kumar had come out in open support of the actor and admonished sections of the media for ”hounding him” as though he had already been pronounced guilty.

In yet another development today, ‘Pulimurugan’ director Vysakh has also been quizzed by the cops as he was the director of ‘Sound Thoma’ which had Dileep in its lead role. The director, as per Manorama’s news report, was questioned regarding reports of Pulsar Suni’s presence at the sets of the movie in which Dileep had been starring.
