With each passing round, Maithili Thakur is firmly tightening her hold on the Alinagar seat, taking her tally to 25,764 votes. Her lead has now stretched to 8,906 votes – a margin that speaks for itself.

What started as a promising early edge is rapidly turning into a dominating, near-landslide scenario, as the constituency increasingly appears to be tilting decisively towards the BJP.

BJP’s Maithili Thakur appears set for a victory in the Alinagar constituency, as he surges ahead with 22,236 total votes. Counting has now reached the 6th round out of a total 24 rounds and Thakur’s lead continues to grow with each update, signalling a dominant performance in this high-stakes contest.

BJP candidate Maithili Thakur has tightened her grip on the Alinagar contest, pushing her tally to 11,082 votes and extending her lead with a remarkable 4,113-vote surge since the previous round. RJD’s Binod Mishra continues to slip behind, now at 6,969 votes, as the gap between the two expands rapidly with each update.

Jan Suraaj Party’s Biplaw Kumar Choudhary remains far out of contention with 358 votes, while AAP’s Rajipal Jha has stagnated at 188, falling even further behind in the race.

As of 10:45 AM, BJP’s Maithili Thakur is leading by 4,113 votes from the Alinagar seat while RJD’s Binod Mishra is trailing on number second with 6,969 total votes, according to the ECI.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s Gopal Jee Thakur led in the Alinagar segment by 9,842 votes over RJD’s Lalit Kumar Yadav. Though the margin was modest, the lead strengthened NDA’s confidence and signaled that the RJD’s dominance might be weakening.

In 2020, the tide shifted when Mishri Lal Yadav of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), aligned with the NDA, defeated RJD’s Binod Mishra by 3,101 votes. Mishri Lal secured 61,082 votes (38.62%) against Binod Mishra’s 57,981 (36.66%), marking a narrow but important NDA breakthrough.

Maithili Thakur’s remarks come on the heels of nine major exit polls predicting a decisive victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Agencies including Chanakya Strategies, Dainik Bhaskar, DV Research, JVC, Matrize, P-Marq, People’s Insight, Peoples Pulse, and TIF Research have forecast an NDA seat tally between 130 and 167. Their estimates place the Mahagathbandhan in the range of 73 to 108 seats.

Yet, as always in Bihar, there is a caveat: exit polls have a history of missing the mark. The state has repeatedly surprised analysts, with final results often defying even the most confident projections.

The early picture of the Bihar election results is slowly becoming clearer. According to the latest trends, the JDU-led NDA is ahead in 88 seats, giving it a slight lead over the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, which is currently leading in 63 seats. Meanwhile, other parties are ahead in 5 constituencies.

These numbers are still early, but they provide the first clear glimpse of how the major alliances are performing as the counting gathers pace.
