Ranchi Rajdhani express derailment LIVE Updates:  The Ranchi New Delhi Rajdhani train has derailed near Delhi’s Shivaji Bridge bridge. According to news agency ANI, the engine and power car of the express train had derailed. However, no injuries have been reported till now. The incident took place around 11:45 AM. Earlier in the morning, yet another train had derailed in Uttar Pradesh. While talking about the incident the Northern Railway spokesperson said, “Engine, power coach of Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani Express derail near Minto Bridge in New Delhi; no fatalities.” Earlier in the day, seven coaches of the Howrah-Jabalpur Shaktipunj Express derailed near Obra in Sonbhadra district of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Railway ministry spokesperson Anil Saxena while talking about the incident told PTI, “The accident occurred at around 6:25 am and we have already cleared out the site.” He added, “All passengers were put on the remaining coaches and by 7:28 AM all of them had left the spot. All of them are safe and no one was injured in the accident.”

6: 20 PM: The injured man, identified as Imam Hussain, was taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital in Daryaganj, Sharma added.

6: 13 PM: Meanwhile, as per the report by PTI, one person was injured when the engine and power car of the Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani derailed at 11:45 am as it was approaching the Delhi railway station, said Neeraj Sharma, Northern Railways spokesperson.

4: 59 PM: The report comes just hours after seven coaches of the Jabalpur-bound Shaktipunj Express derailed near Obra Dam station in the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh.

4: 45 PM: As per the report by PTI, Fatehgarh Superintendent of Police Dayanand Mishra said the matter is being probed.

4: 30 PM: Railway officials, accompanied by local police, visited the spot near Bhopatpatti and the train left for its destination after 30 minutes, reported PTI.

4: 18 PM: A police was quoted by PTI as saying that alert locals managed to get the Delhi-Kanpur Kalindi Express stopped before the damaged portion of the track.

4: 12 PM: Meanwhile, earlier in the today, a train accident was averted as a fracture in the track was detected between Farrukhabad and Fatehgarh, minutes before the Kalindi Express was scheduled to pass, officials said.

3: 58 PM: Meanwhile, earlier in the day, in yet another derailment in Uttar Pradesh, seven coaches of Jabalpur-bound Shaktipunj Express jumped the track today near the Obra Dam station in the Sonbhadra district, as per the report by PTI.

3: 38 PM: The derailments of the Rajdhani and the Shaktipunj Express are the first two accidents after Piyush Goyal took over as the new railways minister this week.

3: 26 PM: It was the third derailment in Uttar Pradesh in less than a month, On August 19, the Kalinga Utkal Express derailed in Muzaffarnagar district, killing 22 people. On August 23, the Kaifiat Express derailed in Auraiya district.

2: 54 PM: The train was running at a speed of about 40 km per hr which, as per the report the officials say, prevented any injuries when the incident occurred.

2: 48 PM: Ministry spokesperson Anil Saxena said, “The accident occurred at around 6.25 am this morning and we have already cleared out the site. All passengers were put on the remaining coaches and by 7.28 am all of them had left the spot. All of them are safe and no one was injured in the accident,” reported PTI.

1:53 PM: After the derailment incident that took place earlier today, the Congress party lashed out at new Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, who took over in the recent cabinet reshuffle from Suresh Prabhu, who had offered to step down taking “moral responsibility for the accidents,” according to a Times Now report.

1:45 PM: Indian Railways PRO while talking about the Ranchi Rajdhani Express derailment in Delhi said, “Minor accident. Everyone is safe. The train was near station & hence slow.”
