Una Dalit atrocity: With the issue of Dalit atrocities in Gujarat sparking debates in and out of Rajya Sabha, Arvind Kejriwal has arrived in Rajkot to meet the victims of Una incident. Kejriwal’s visit comes after Rahul Gandhi, who visited the Una district on Thursday to meet the victims and their respective families.
In a video message released by party spokesperson Ashutosh at a press conference on Wednesday, the Delhi Chief Minister asked Dalit youths to not attempt suicide, responding to the news of more than a dozen and half protesting Dalit members attempting suicide in different places in the state over the Una incident.
Dalit community members have been protesting the brutal assault on some community members on July 11 for allegedly skinning a cow at Una in Gir-Somnath district.

Ahead of his visit to Una to meet Dalits thrashed for skinning a dead cow, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal today exhorted all community members to unite in the fight against Gujarat BJP’s “oppressive” regime.
While Rahul Gandhi announced an assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the family, Former Union Minister Praful Patel, who also visited the Dalit victims, on announced an assistance of Rs 2 lakh for them, terming it a small assistance from him and his Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
