Let all startups bloom

Let all startups bloom

This refers to the editorial “Let 1,000 startups bloom” (FE, June 25). While the initiative is welcome, there is a need to nurture startups in the non-IT sector, especially by semi-literate entrepreneurs. Even hawkers are entrepreneurs! Why only concentrate on tech-driven startups? It is not easy to set up a shop as it requires heavy investments, and the regulating environment is not friendly either. Agreed, the mechanism might be different, but a mechanism has to evolve for nurturing non-tech startups, because they also need a suitable environment to flourish. We hope the government will soon come out with a policy for the same.
