Indian interests in space

This is in regard to the article titled ‘Protecting Indian air space’, published in your paper on May 2, 2015. Firstly, allow me to congratulate the author for writing a brilliant and easy to comprehend piece. It was indeed a very pleasurable read and one that made me realize that perhaps not all is well at ISRO. Through this letter, I wish to bring your attention to the issue of capacities allocated by ISRO to existing DTH players. I am told that TATA Sky and DD are the only two operators broadcasting on Indian satellite and they too have been fighting for more capacities. The issue is of grave concern from two point stands, one that ISRO needs to be working towards making India self sufficient, instead of the country reaching out to foreign satellite service providers and second, the industry needs to catch up with the global developments and hence should promote ease of business.

Curb fundamentalists

Why is it that the government is still shying away from strong action against communal elements across religions? The saffron brigade seems to have become more rabid since the BJP’s win last year. They are going to give more fodder to the villainous extremists in the other religions.
