The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has stressed the importance of commuters adhering to the excise regulations of their respective states when transporting liquor bottles on Metro trains. This advisory follows DMRC's decision last year to allow passengers to carry up to two sealed liquor bottles per person.
However, this relaxation has raised concerns about compliance with varying state regulations, particularly in cross-border transit.
In June 2023, DMRC granted permission for passengers to carry two sealed liquor bottles each within its network spanning the National Capital Region (NCR), encompassing Delhi, Faridabad, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Noida. This move drew objections from the Delhi government, which argued it contradicted local excise laws.

Indications are that Chaudhary may own responsibility for the party's poor performance in the polls and offer to step down. Chaudhay, who hails from the Jat community, may be replaced by an OBC face. Maurya, who has made his differences with Yogi Adityanath clear, is an influential OBC leader in the state and also enjoys the backing of the RSS. Read More
