Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi arrived in Jammu on Saturday to assess the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir amid escalating terror activities in the typically peaceful Jammu region. This marks his second visit to Jammu in less than three weeks since assuming the role of the 30th Chief of the Indian Army on June 30, reported PTI.

The airline has reported that the passengers who were stuck have arrived at the US city safely by an alternate flight. Manoj Soni, Chairperson of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), has resigned nearly five years before the end of his term, citing "personal reasons" according to various media reports. Soni, who joined the UPSC as a member in 2017, was appointed Chairperson on May 16, 2023. His term was set to run until 2029. reports reveal that Soni submitted his resignation about a month ago, but it remains unclear whether it will be accepted.

Over 100 have been killed in the escalating protests in Bangladesh, prompting Indian-origin students to urgently return to India via any available transportation. On Friday alone, over 300 individuals were reported to have crossed the border in the northeast.
