RJD leader and former chief minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav lashed out at his former ally Nitish Kumar on Thursday morning demanding a CBI investigation into the Srijan scam. While speaking to media, Lalu said there should be a CBI investigation of the matter and these people should be sent to jail. “CBI se jaanch karao aur inn logon ko jail main band karo. Bolte theyy bhrashtachar pe zero tolerance! (Get CBI to investigate the matter and put these people in jail. They used to say there will be zero tolerance of corruption),” he was quoted saying by ANI.
Talking about yesterday’s incident when Tejashwi Yadav was stopped from visiting Bhagalpur, Lalu said it was only because Nitish was afraid of Tejashwi’s rally and that is why he did everything possible to stop him. “Nitish Kumar dharashai ho gaya hai, loktantra ka gala ghonta hai (Nitish Kumar has been brought to ground, he has murdered democracy),” Lalu added. The RJD supremo said that Nitish Kumar broke the grand alliance and joined NDA only to save himself. Lalu said if required he will go to the Enforcement Directorate and all other possible places. He added that the scam is over worth Rs 2000 crore.
Yesterday, Tejashwi Yadav spoke in a similar tone after he was stopped from going to Bhagalpur. Tejashwi had accused the Nitish Kumar government of stopping him to visit the town. “Since I am going to Bhagalpur to expose a scam in which crores of government money have been swindled, the chief minister is trying to stop me from going there,” Tejaswi Yadav had alleged in a statement.
Meanwhile, the JD (U) Bihar spokesman Neeraj Kumar criticised the RJD for indulging in violence “out of frustration” over the loss of power. On Tejaswi’s assertion that the government of the day was trying to stop him from reaching Bhagalpur to expose a scam, Neeraj Kumar said, “It does look nice for one who himself is embroiled in corruption.”
