A Kerala woman, on Thursday, allegedly killed her 14-year-old son by strangling him and later burned his body. The mayhem didn’t end there as the body was reportedly dumped by the woman near their home in Kollam. On the day after the incident, the woman, along with her husband went to the police and filed a missing report for the teenager. When the police found too many contradictions in the story, they investigated the matter further. The 42-year-old woman reportedly failed to explain why she had burn marks on her hand and the police began a search for the boy.
The body was recovered about 200 m away from the two-storey house. The boy was a class 9 student and after several rounds of interrogation, his mother confessed to a chilling crime that has left neighbours and relatives in shock. According to the details provided by the police, the woman confessed that she allegedly strangled her son with her dupatta in the kitchen, dragged his body to the rear of her compound, burnt it and threw it across the wall.
The woman then allegedly dragged the body from right outside the compound wall few metres away, where she burnt it with dry leaves and coconut fibre, threw the burnt remains over the boundary wall and then dragged it away from the house.
The woman reportedly told the police that she had lost her cool during an argument with her son, who had just returned from his paternal grandmother’s home. However, this woman’s husband has told the police that his wife was “mentally unstable”. When the incident took place, the man was not at home. When he returned home, the woman told her that the boy had gone shopping to buy something. As he didn’t come back for some time, the couple went to the police.
Meanwhile, another report suggests that the woman claimed that she was possessed by the evil forces that forced her to kill her own son.
