Coming back from his four-nation Africa tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will today review the violent situation in the Kashmir Valley.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who cancelled his visit to the United States, and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval are a part of the meeting chaired by the PM.

Kashmir has been witnessing one of the worst violence in recent times, after protests broke out across the valley over Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani’s killing.

The Separatist groups have been calling for a shutdown ever since and have extended their strike call in Jammu and Kashmir by two more days.

The clashes between protesters and security forces in Kashmir has killed 23 people, even as normal life remained paralysed in the Valley.
