“Prepare for a change in the state…” he reportedly said at the event, while speaking in Kannada.
Breakfasts meetings between CM, Dy CM
For weeks, the supporters of Shivakumar held meetings and even turned up to Delhi to meet Congress high command. Reason, for a promise that the DKS faction claimed was made in 2023 when the party won the state. The promise of making DKS the CM after half tenure of the government.
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge kept on saying the high-command will meet the two leaders, as DKS silently led the optics of change in the Karnataka government leadership change.
After a brief social media war and supporters’ drama, the two were asked to resolve it publicly. And then, the breakfast meet up at Siddaramaiah’s place happened, with DK Shivakumar as the guest.
What happened in the breakfast meeting?
The breakfast was hosted by CM Siddaramaiah at his residence. “Had breakfast with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar this morning and had a brief conversation,” the CM said in a post on X, and shared photos.
After the breakfast, the two leaders held a joint presser wherein Siddaramaiah said they have no differences and won’t have any in the future as well.
“There are no differences between us and there will be no differences in the future…” he said.
“Our agenda is the 2028 elections. Local body elections are important. We discussed them. We also discussed bringing back Congress in the 2028 elections. We discussed that we will go together. There are no differences between us and there will be no differences in the future…” the CM added.
On the current row, he said they have decided that they will follow whatever the high command says. “There will be no confusion from tomorrow. There is still no confusion. Some media reporters have created the confusion.”
