A judge's wife and son were on Saturday shot at in Haryana's Gurugram. A call was made to the police soon after the incident. Investigation is on.
A judge’s wife and son were allegedly shot at by his personal security staff on Saturday in Haryana’s Gurugram. According to news agency PTI, the incident took place near Arcadia market in Sector-49. The two persons – identified as Additional Sessions Judge Krishan Kant’s wife Ritu and son Dhruv – were rushed to a hospital in the city where they are in “critical” condition, the police said. The incident occurred around 3.30 pm when the two had gone for shopping in the Arcadia market, DCP-East Sulochna Gajraj told PTI. They two were accompanied by the judge’s guard, Mahipal.
“Some locals informed the police about gunshots being fired outside the Arcadia market. When a police team reached the spot, they found Ritu and Dhruv lying in a pool of blood,” Gajraj was quoted as saying by PTI. She added that Ritu has suffered bullet injury in her chest, while Dhruv in his head. “They were taken to the Medanta Hospital where they are undergoing treatment but their condition is critical,” according to the officer.
The guard has been arrested from Faridabad, Gajraj said. Mahipal was being interrogated to establish the reason why he opened fire, Gurgaon police PRO Subhash Bokan said.
In August, a 50-year old Non-Resident Indian (NRI) was beaten to death in Gurugram in city’s DLF Phase-2 area. The businessman reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest and died after he was roughed up by a private guard and the owner of a bungalow.
In another shocking incident in June, a woman allegedly fired at an autorickshaw driver in Gurugram after a quarrel over parking. Identified as Sapna, 34, the woman along with her husband got embroiled in an argument with the autorickshaw driver over roadside parking. The incident took place at the Bhawani Enclave area, sector 9.
