Rajasthan election 2018: Months ahead of assembly elections in the state, chief minister Vasundhara Raje has announced to recruit around 1.08 lakh youths in government jobs before December this year. The announcement was made by Raje during the Rajasthan Budget 2018-19 presentation on Monday. Sharing details of the vacancies to be filled, the chief minister said as many as 77,100 posts will be filled in education department, 5,718 in Home department, 11,930 in Administrative Reforms and 6,571 in Health department.
In the next financial year, Raje said a notification for filling 75,000 posts will be released. Along with these, around 2,000 patwaris, 1,000 nursing training teachers for child development projects, 1,161 constables for new Mewar Bheel Core Batallion in Banswara, 500 foresters and 2,000 forest guards would also be recruited, Raje said in the Budget speech ahead of crucial elections in the state.
Raje, who holds the finance portfolio in the state, also increased Rs 5000 employment subsidy to industries giving priority to bona fide residents of Rajasthan. The subsidy has been increased from Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000 for providing employment to bona fide residents by the established enterprises in backward and most backward areas.
Apart from job announcements, Raje announced a Rs 15 crore skill training scheme for developing entrepreneurship in the state. She said the present employment offices of the state would be soon transformed into “model career centers” and Rs 45 crore would be spent for the purpose. Technical training for 12 professions will also be provided to 4,000 women at 24 government ITIs at the cost of Rs 23 crore, she said.
At the cost of Rs 28 crore, around 22,500 seats will be created for providing skill training to educated but unemployed youths at government-run ITIs, she said, adding a Youth Icon Scheme would be launched to promote sporting talents in the state.
Rajasthan is to go to poll towards the end of this year. The job announcements by Raje are, hence, seen as an attempt to woo unemployed youths in the state ahead of the polls. In recently-held byelections in the state, BJP had received a wake-up call as the party lost two Lok Sabha and an assembly seat to the Congress.
Reacting to the budget announcements on Monday, Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot said they were “ambiguous” and “pretentious.”
Rameshwar Dudi, Leader of opposition in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, said the budget was “directionless and disappointing.”
