Tamil Nadu Chief Miniter J Jayalalithaa will laid to rest at MGR memorial grounds on Marina Beach at 4:30 pm on Tuesday. Her mortal remains were placed at Rajaji hall in Chennai for the people to pay her last respect after she died after prolonged illness at Apollo Hospital on Monday night. Since the morning, a swarm of people flocked to the place to get the last glimpse of their beloved leader. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union minister Venkaiah Naidu, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and many other politicians visited the hall to pay homage to Jayalalithaa on the occasion. Superstar Rajinikanth also visited and paid homage to the CM.

The final journey of Jayalalithaa from Rajaji hall to Marina beach will begin shortly. While heavy crowd remained present at the hall, several thousands of people had already gathered at Marina beach to witness her burial. With moist eyes and pain of losing their leader, the count of people was continuously increasing at the beach.
Meanwhile, a deep pit was dug by engaging JCB excavators at MGR memorial grounds, where Jayalalithaa will lay to rest in the presence of a heavy crowd of her followers. The grave of Jayalalithaa had been dug next to her mentor and former chief minister MG Ramachandran, reported ToI. Many dignitaries will also attend her last rite. Congress vice President Rahul Gandhi reached Chennai for the same.
