In her first cabinet reshuffle since taking office after the May 16 polls, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa dropped Dairy Development Minister S.P. Shanmuganathan and inducted K. Pandiarajan as the new School Education Minister in her new cabinet. The cabinet rejig came days after Shanmuganathan was also dropped as the secretary of the party’s Thoothukudi district.
According to a press release, Jayalalithaa recommended Avadi MLA K. Pandiarajan to handle School education, Archeology, Youth Welfare, Sports Development etc. On her recommendation, Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah dropped Shanmuganthan from the cabinet.
Pandiarajan is expected to swore in as the new School Education Minister on Tuesday evening.
The Chief Minister also made other portfolio relocations in her cabinet with the erstwhile Minister for School Education, P.Benjamin entrusted with the portfolio of Rural, Cottage and Small Industries.
Jayalalithaa had also lauded Tenzing Norgay National Adventure awardee B Rajkumar today praising his “splendid achievements as a sky diver.” She said,”I am delighted to learn that based on the recommendation of the Government of Tamil Nadu, you have been selected by the Government of India for the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award 2015, for air adventure. This award is in recognition of your splendid achievements as a sky diver.”
