The BJP today said that Jan Sangh helped Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Puducherry in getting independence from foreign rule. BJP national general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal also said the party had fought for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Shah Bano case, Bofors scam, Kashmir issue and terrorism. "This is the reason why the party is progressing and had a majority government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra\u00a0Modi. We are here for a prosperous India," he said, adding that the party was following the principle of "nation first and party second".
