The Indian security forces are currently involved in an encounter with terrorists at Yaripora of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam. The encounter is taking place outside a house where terrorists are hiding.
According to PTI, four militants have killed during the gunbattle while two army jawans have martyred. According to the latest reports by news agency ANI, bodies of 2 terrorists have been recovered and the encounter is still going on.

However, a statement by Indian army said that these figures should be taken as the official ones since the battle is still on. These are still unconfirmed numbers and the real causalities will be known when the encounter ends.

The army got a tip-off by police that a group of terrorists are hiding in a village in Kulgam which is nearly 60 kilometres from Srinagar. So, far three more militants are believed to be injured in the battle but managed to escape from the point of action.
The Minister of State, Jitendra Singh condemned the attack and said that it is no longer a secret that Pakistan is sponsoring terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. “No longer a secret that entire terrorism on Indian soil,particularly in J&K is sponsored by Islamabad. Entire world is coming round to the view point of Modi govt that Pakistan must contain export of terrorism from its soil,” he said.
A source was quoted by PTI saying that army is still hunting for them. The encounter broke this morning in Frisal area after security forces launched the cordon and search operation.
Earlier on February 4, the security forces shot dead two top Kashmiri militants while they were trying to enter politically sensitive Sopore town in Jammu and Kashmir’s north-western Baramulla district. Two police officials were injured in initial response from the duo during the encounter.
