A day after a PDP minister’s house was attacked, terrorists today fired on the house of two policemen, who are siblings, in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. No one is reported to be injured in the incident. They opened fire on the houses of ASI Dilbar Ahmad and Constable Reyaz Ahmad at Keegam in the district, a police official said. According to him, the militants broke windows and vehicle of the cops before fleeing from the spot.
Yesterday, in an attack on minister from PDP Farooq Andrabi’s house left at least 1 policeman injured even as the terrorists escaped with his rifle. The minister was not present at the house at the time of the attack. Same day, two terrorists were killed when they attacked a police party in Padgampora village. One SLR and one AK-47 were recovered from them. This was the second time that an encounter took place in Pulwama district.
On March 17, an encounter between the security forces and terrorists took place. Few days back, two terrorists, were also killed in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Pulwama district of the state. The killed LeT terrorist was identified as Mohd Shafi Shergujari.

According to a CRPF official troops of 130 Bn CRPF, 55 RR and SOG Pulwama involved in the operation. “Unconfirmed presence of 4-5 terrorists, operation is going on”, said the CRPF official. Last month, four army men, including a Major, and some militants were killed while eight other security personnel and a civilian were injured in two different encounters in the state, officials said. In an encounter in Kralgund area of Kupwara district, security forces killed three militants hiding in a house, a police official said. Major S Dahiya was injured in the encounter and later succumbed to his injuries, the official said.
