AIADMK has launched a social media campaign to counter the speculation about the Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s health. The party tweeted a link where users could go and change their profile photos on Twitter to say “My CM is fine” and “No more rumours”. “All is well with Puratchi Thalaivi Amma. Click this link, change your profile pic & put a full stop to rumours,” the AIADMK’s twitter handle wrote.

Jayalalithaa’s health has been the subject of speculation on social media for more than a week, sparking rumours of her in intensive care. The state government and her party, the AIADMK, have repeatedly quashed the rumours. Jayalalithaa was admitted to Chennai’s Apollo Hospital on September 22 with high fever and dehydration.

Meanwhile Kerala Governor P. Sathasivam said that Jayalalithaa is likely to be discharged soon from hospital. “All the specialists’ doctors informed us that there is a good response to the treatment and she is likely to be discharged soon and soon she will take over the administration of the state,” Sathasivam told the media.

The Kerala Governor made the comments after visiting the Apollo Hospital with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
