Superintendent of Police in the Kurnool district Ake Ravi Krishna has adopted Kapatrala village. He is also on a mission to make people aware of eye donation, a report by scoopwhoop.com has said. As per the report, the village was hit by faction killings and revenge murders and at least 21 people there are facing prison terms that even include life imprisonment.
The officer has also written, and sang a song to encourage people to donate their eyes after death. The song is titled ‘Kallanu daanam chey, nee choopunu daanam chey’, which means ‘donate your eyes, donate your vision’, was shared on several social media platforms. Such instances of good deeds have also come to fore elsewhere. Earlier this year, cricket icon and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) had adopted Donja in Maharashtra’s Osmanabad district under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna, a PTI report said. He had earlier adopted Puttamraju Kandriga village in Andhra Pradesh.

For the development of Donja, the Little Master as he is famously called, had sanctioned over Rs 4 crore from his MPLAD fund. It would be spent on development of a school building, concrete roads, sewage line attached to it, and a water Supply scheme which would help provide potable water to each household, the report said further.
Since Sachin Tendulkar adopted the village, five special village level meetings have been held, under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana in which women from the village also took part. As per PTI report, the initial planning has already been made.
