Later addressing a media conference, Swaraj said, “Jo vaatavaran aaj Bharat mein investment ka hai, wo isse pehle kabhi nahi tha. Iss liye iska laabh uthaaiye (The environment for investment that is there is India today was never there before. So we should benefit from it.)” The EE Forum 2017 has been organised in Russia to present better conditions for doing business in the country’s Far East in a bid to attract more foreign investment.

Swaraj who is on a 3-day visit to Russia, also held talks with the Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Sergei Donskoi and had said that India-Russia ties are rock solid and will move forward. Russian President Vladimir Putin will traditionally take part in the forum today and speak at a plenary session dubbed “The Far East: Creating New Reality.” Swaraj is visiting Russia at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev.

The forum is considered as the biggest international communication platform for cooperation between businesses leaders and senior government representatives from Russia, the Pacific Region and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). According to Russian media, delegates from at least 24 countries including the US, Japan, China, Australia, Canada, Britain and Germany are attending the event.
