Keeping in view the ease of travelling between its domestic and International terminals, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) may soon increase the frequency and service of their shuttle facility connecting the two terminals. The step has been taken after a passenger tweeted and tagged state aviation minister about the poor service at the airport. The minister responded to the passenger’s Tweet, and promised a solution to the issue. After minister’s intervention, DIAL stated that with the help of DTC, more shuttles will be added, especially during the night time.
It is seen that passengers are quite active on social media, and the ministry, in turn, is taking their grievances quite seriously these days. Amit Goyal, a passenger, on September 1 tweeted to Jayant Sinha about the problem faced at the airport, “Sir horrible experience last night transferring from T1 terminal to T3 terminal at New Delhi airport.” The passenger further tweeted, “@jayantsinha frequency & quality of shuttle needs 2be improved drastically in order 2avoid nervous breakdown 4 short flight connections.”
The minister replied, “@Delhi_Airport #AirSewa please note.” After the minister’s tweet, DIAL immediately stepped in assuring the passengers of further improvements in facilities. DIAL, in a tweet replying to Goyal, said – “Sorry to hear this.#DTC is in the process of enhancing shuttle service frequency & quality during night time @jayantsinha.” The airport operators further tweeted, “#DelhiAirport & #DTC are also imparting behavioural and hygiene training to the bus staff @jayantsinha.”
