According to reports Indian forces have also retaliated. According to Times now, Home Minister Rajnath Singh called up the DG, BSF and gave a free hand to the India troops for retaliation. According to reports the shooting started at around 2 pm on Tuesday. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also approved the decision for appropriate retaliation by the Indian army.
Earlier on Sunday, armed militants had entered the Indian soil and attacked an army camp at the LoC near Uri, where 18 Indian soldiers were killed. India had strongly condemned the act of terrorism and decided to isolate Pakistan at a global level. Indian army’s Lt Gn Ranbir Singh, in an interaction with the media, had revealed the reports of the initial army investigation and said that the weapons recovered from the terrorists had Pakistani markings.
It was also reported that the Pakistani armed forces had heavily fortified their posts following the attacks, thus making India reconsider their stance of an immediate retaliation to the terror attacks. Tensions between both the countries have been on a rise ever since Pakistan started interfering with India’s internal matters. Pakistani Prime Minister had earlier sought the intervention of the US after accusing India of committing human rights violation in Kashmir.
