Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday stood in solidarity with the BJP government and the Indian Army following the successful surgical strikes across the LoC in Pakistan. She also said that the Congress party supported the government on its stand. She added that the Congress party hopes that Pakistan would take effective actions to dismantle the infra of terrorism that it has supported for so long. The cOngress also hopes that Pakistan would recognise that it bears great responsibility tin continuing cross-border terrorist attacks in India.

Earlier in the day, former Defence Minister had also saluted the bravery of the Indian forces. Speaking to reporters, he saluted the bravery of Indian forces and said that this was a befitting reply to Pakistan. He added that there was a strong message in the strike and extended the party’s full support to the Indian army. He further stated that they supported the government and its endeavour to protect our national security.

Earlier last night, India conducted surgical strikes across LoC and significant casualties were caused by the terrorists, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, DGMO, Indian Army said on Thursday. He also said that it is a matter of serious concern that there have been many infiltration bids by terrorists at LoC. He also added that the motive of this operation was to hit out at the terrorists who were planning to infiltrate into our territory. “India has shared with Pakistan Army details of surgical strikes and we expect them to cooperate in the fight against terror,” he added. There were no Indian causalities during surgical strikes that were carried out.
