India, US to engage on visa issues

India and the US on Tuesday decided to continue their engagement on visa issues, with Washington taking note of New Delhi’s interest in ensuring easier access for Indian professionals. A statement released at the end of the Trade Policy Forum meeting, co-chaired by commerce minister Nirmala Sitharaman and US trade representative Michael Froman, said both sides are committed to identifying ways in which trade and innovation policies can enhance access to quality health and affordable medicines. They also decided to explore the possibility of giving greater market access to agri products.
