Indian Army’s surgical strike across the border to wipe out terror launchpads has been hailed by defence and security experts. Based on a confirmed information that scores of terrorists were readying themselves to infiltrate into the Indian territory and carry out strikes in Kashmir and other metros, Indian Army conducted a surgical strike across the border in Kashmir and destroyed the terror launch pads. Several terrorists were also killed.

Indian army’s DGMO Lt Gen Ranbir Singh told reporters that India conducted surgical strikes on terrorist launch pads across LOC in Pakistan last night. The first of its kind move by India, which has till now observed the policy of strategic restraint, has received praise from security experts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been praised for giving a “befitting reply” to Pakistan.

Security analyst Saurabh Shukla said, “It is a historic day for India.” Congratulating the PM and the Indian Army for successful carrying out the attack, Shukla told Time Now, “Pakistan has been telling in past that India only talks, it never acts. But this attack will change their perception.”

Experts said that the surgical strike marks a landmark shift in India’s defense strategy as the country has now gone for strategic attack instead of the strategic restraint practiced for years.

Defense expert Brig V Mahalingam also complemented the PM and the Indian Army for action against the terror camp. “The army unit, infact the entire Army, needs to be complemented for the operation.”

The experts pointed out that a change in India’s defense strategy was very much necessary. This is the only way Pakistan can be taught a lesson, said Saurabh.

BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said, “This is a lesson for all terrorists. We have the right of self-defence.” DGMO Lt Gen Ranbir Singh made it clear that India has no intention to continue to carry out strikes across the border. “But we are prepared for any contingency.”
