Amidst rising public anger over the mysterious death of upright IAS officer D K Ravi, several IAS officers in Karnataka have signed an online petition addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking a CBI probe into the matter.

The signature campaign is being undertaken by “Uttishta Bharatha”, a voluntary trust, which has created the online petition in which 13.58 lakh people have so far signed, the Trust said.

Speaking to PTI, Additional Chief Secretary (Environment, Forest and Ecology) Gopal said the case should be handed over to CBI for inquiry even as there are attempts from some quarters to assassinate the character of the upright IAS officer.

“The case should be handed over to an independent agency – CBI – even as there are attempts from some quarters to assassinate the character of the deceased IAS officer. There are attempts made to kill Ravi for second time. We will not allow it,” he said.

The IAS officials, who signed the petition, are himself, Pankaj Pandey, Sameer Shukla and Srivasta Srikishna, among others, Gopal said.

Gopal, however, said in no way he was questioning and doubting the credentials of state-run investigating agencies. “This does not mean we, IAS officers, are against and suspecting the abilities of the state investigative agencies. They are able, but this case is of different genre and should be given to an independent agency,” the IAS officer said.

IAS officers must not bend backward. they must restore their right to work as under the consution and not under the political bosses just because they wield powers to promote, demote, transfer and har any IAS- IPS unless they do their biddings. Ravi was a different breed altogether who brought respect and glory to the service, having been sold to the politicians by his colleagues. One Mr. Mukherjee retired DGP from Lucknow mentioned of Durga Shakti Nagpal who has now become docile to the political boss and for all the good reason may be she is the dream girl of the ruling party an example to be emulated according to the Political leaders, but Ravi was not cut out to be so, we only hope the number of IAS, IPS lives lost because of the callousness of the IAS- IPS community will prove to be enough and they will take a stand. Remember CBI is working under the PMO and remember after so many years of investigations by the CBI in fake encounter case in which Amit Shah was involved has been given clean chit by the CBI. CBI must be made independent.

The cause of death of Late Sri D K Ravi should be probed by CBI and not the CID of Govt. of Karnataka and the culprits irrespective of could creed caste religion affiliation to political or religious bodies should be mercilessly booked and punished and also with their properties seized. It is a pity that the Bengalureans are facing a anarchy type of governance led by land, sand, corporate, political mafia. There seem to be no control over the tax evaders, evil minded builders, contractors who are eating away the vast lands of the bengaluru.
