Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa issued a warning to Pakistan on Thursday afternoon by saying that the Indian Air Force (IAF) is ready to fight at short notice with full synergy if the need arises. He added that IAF has the capability to locate, fix and strike across the border. “IAF is prepared to fight at short notice in full synergy with other two sister services, should the need arise. Air Force has the capability to locate, fix and strike across the border,” BS Dhanao was quoted saying on the issue of the tactical nuclear weapons of Pakistan by ANI.
In recent times, Pakistan has not been the only worry for the Indian government, with China continuously pressing from the other end. Talking about this, Dhanoa said that the Indian Air Force is capable of carrying out operations at both the fronts. “Need 42 squadrons to carry out full spectrum of ops in case of 2 front war. With numbers we’ve got,we are capable of carrying it out,” he said. Dhanao added that men and women under his command are fully prepared to undertake full spectrum of air ops and respond to any challenge in a befitting manner.
He said that the primary concern at the moment are the losses during peace time. “Our losses during peace time are cause of concern. We are making concentrated efforts to minimize accidents & preserve our assets,” Dhanoa said
Talking about IAF on involvement in anti-Naxal operations, he said, “We don’t use kinetic air power against our people. We are in recce & transport role in Operation Triveni.” Apart from this, Dhanoa also confirmed that the first three women fighter pilots will be commissioned in December this year.
