Hyderabad: In a heart-wrenching incident, a young couple along with their two minor daughters committed suicide by jumping into a lake in Keesara, Hyderabad. As per local media reports, Manipadige Ramesh (32), his wife Manasa (24), and two minor daughters – aged six months and three years – committed suicide following a family dispute. Reportedly, Ramesh’s mother was miffed with the couple as they couldn’t give her a male offspring. She had also been harassing Manasa for giving birth to two daughters. The local media reports claim that since Ramesh was the only son of the family, Ramesh’s mother kept pinching his wife, Manasa for giving birth to two girls. In anger, Ramesh’s mother didn’t even mention his name of her son Ramesh in her Will and named all her property after her other two daughters. Reportedly, this became the seed of discord for the family dispute and ruined the terms between Ramesh and his sisters.
The trigger point for the suicide, as per reports, came during a family meeting on Monday which left Ramesh disappointed. After the family meeting, Ramesh along with his wife and daughters left the home never to return back. When time passed by, Ramesh’s brother-in-law started searching for the couple and kids. After few hours of scouring, Ramesh’s brother-in-law found Ramesh’s scooter near the banks of the lake and informed the police. The police rushed to the spot and found the bodies of all four. The body of the six-month-old child was found hugging her mother when their bodies were taken out from the lake.
After their bodies were found, Manasa’s father lodged a complaint, in which he alleged that in-laws of his daughter were harassing her. Police have registered a case and investigation is underway.
The couple had got married in March 2014.
