Honeypreet, who once led a life of luxury and commanded the entire Dera Sacha Sauda following as per her whim and fancy and travelled in style and had all the comforts of life, is now living a life full of agony and suffering – in jail. Honeypreet today suffered yet another blow as she has been awarded three days police remand by a Panchkula court. This time she isn’t alone, the same decision has been taken for her associate, Sukhdeep Kaur. Earlier, the court had sent them both to six days police remand. Sukhdeep Kaur, who was accompanying Honeypreet when she was arrested, was held on charges of harbouring the fugitive. Honeypreet had remained fugitive for 38 days after she was booked by Haryana Police on the charge of sedition. It must be noted that Haryana Police had sought 14 days police remand, as per an Indian Express report. A police officer involved in her interrogation had told IANS that police sought remand as she was being ‘evasive’ in her replies about her whereabouts and her role in inciting violence and providing funding to those behind the violence.

It is being speculated that being the closest aide of the rapist sect chief, Honeypreet knew many things about the activities of the sect and its role in the violence in Panchkula and other places after the August 25 conviction of Ram Rahim on two counts of rape. On the other hand, Honeypreet, in an interview to a news channel, claimed that she was innocent. Describing the allegations against her as “baseless”, she said that she was falsely implicated in the sedition case.
