Republic Day 2018: India is celebrating its 69th Republic Day today and the Bollywood is no behind in celebrating the big day. Many Bollywood celebrities, on this occasion, greeted the nation and wished for the peace and prosperity of the country. Celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Shraddha Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor took to social media to extend their greetings. “Wishing you all a very happy Republic Day. Jai Hind,” tweeted Big B, along with a poem of his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Ranveer Singh, whose film “Padmaavat” released on Thursday, posted a picture of himself with the national flag and wrote, “Happy Republic Day.” While Anushka Sharma tweeted, “United we stand, divided we fall. Happy Republic Day to you all! Jai Hind!” “One Country, one People, one Flag. Happy Republic Day to all,” tweeted Kajol.

Bollywood’s Dabangg Khan Salman Khan also extended his greetings to the nation on the Republic Day. He wrote, “Happy republic day from me, my family n the being human family have a gr8 year ahead n Haan being human has given a 50% discount for u from today till the 28th. Enjoy.”

Actor Vivek Anand Oberoi tweeted, “Freedom in our minds,faith in our words,pride in our hearts & memories in our souls.Lets salute the sacrifice of all those that helped to build our great nation!Justice, liberty, equality, fraternity. May our dream of a new, strong & united India come true! Jai Hind????#RepublicDay”.

Earlier, in the day, the Republic Day 2018 parade saw India’s military might and a panorama of India’s diverse culture. This year, the parade was witnessed by all the ASEAN leaders. The heads from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Brunei – were the Chief Guests of this year’s Republic Day.

Celebrated every year since January 26, 1950, on this day, the Constitution of the country came into effect. On this day, the country’s President takes the salute as the head of the republic from the contingents of police and armed forces at the India Gate in the national capital.
