Jailed Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s adopted daughter Honeypreet was reportedly spotted in Nepal’s Mahendranagar city recently. According to an India Today report, she was seen roaming around with three other people in a vehicle last Sunday. Honeypreet, who is absconding since the arrest of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh after being convicted on rape charges, may have changed her looks, the report added quoting Haryana police sources. Panchkula Police have booked her on charges of instigating August 25 riots.
The Haryana Police on Monday released a list of 43 people wanted for the Panchkula violence that erupted soon after Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in two rape cases last month. Topping the list are Honeypreet Insan and Aditya Insan, a key Dera functionary and spokesman. Both of them are on the run and the police have issued lookout notices for them, said Indian Express.
The police want to interrogate Honeypreet about the alleged conspiracy to free Ram Rahim after his conviction. Aditya, on the other hand, is the prime accused in a sedition case for allegedly encouraging Dera followers to riot after the self-styled godman was sent to jail. Another person related to Dera, Vipassana Insan appeared before investigators on Monday.
Honeypreet had accompanied the disgraced Dera chief when he was brought to the special CBI court in Panchkula for the pronouncement of verdict in a rape case . She described herself herself as “papa’s angel, philanthropist, director, editor and actress” on social media. She was seen holding Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s bags in the court , and was also with him as he was flown to a Rohtak jail in a chopper, the paper added .
