Live Election Results Today, Himachal Pradesh Assembly Election Results 2022 Highlights: It’s official, well almost! The Congress has emerged as the single-largest party in Himachal Pradesh. The current data from the Election Commission of India shows that the Congress has won 39 seats and is leading in 1 other constituency. The majority mark in the 68-seat Himachal Assembly is 35. The confirmed results also show that the Independent candidates have managed to make their mark in this election. Three Independent candidates have won in Himachal Pradesh.

With BJP being restricted to 25 (wins+leads) in official numbers, it is highly unlikely that the party may be able to form a government even if the Independent candidates decide to support it.

However, the Congress is not taking chances. Vikramaditya Singh, son of ex-CM Virbhadra Singh, said that the party ‘will do anything’ to protect democracy. The suspense remains on the name of the next CM of Himachal Pradesh. Some of the big BJP names that have lost the 2022 polls in the hill state are Ram Lal Markanda, Suresh Bhardwaj and Surveen Chaudhary were defeated in this election. All of them were ministers in the Jairam government.

The poll panel's fresh updates show that the Congress has won 39 seats and is leading on 1. The BJP has won 18 seats so far and is leading on 7 others.
The Election Commission of India's latest update shows that the Congress has won 32 seats in Himachal Pradesh. The Grand Old Party is leading on seven other constituencies. BJp, meanwhile, has won 17 seats and is leading on 9 places. All three Independent candidates who were leading have won their respective seats.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel says that the party high command will decide who will be the next CM of Himachal Pradesh. he also said that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's 10-point agenda worked in the hill state.
Latest reports say that outgoing CM Jairam Thakur has reached Raj Bhawan where he will meet the state Governor to tender his resignation. Thakur had conceded defeat a while from now.
Ex-CM Virbhadra Singh's son Vikramaditya Singh has won from the Shimla (rural) seat. He has defeated Ravi Kumar Mehta of the BJP by 13,860 votes.
Accepting the people's mandate, CM Jairam Thakur said that he will tender his resignation to the state Governor shortly. He thanked the Central leadership for all the support in last five years. Expressing his gratitude for PM Modi, Thakur said that the party will now analyse the cause of the defeat and improve the tally in next polls.
Ashish Sharma, an Independent candidate, has won from the Hamirpur constituency in Himachal Pradesh. Earlier, Sharma had said that he has not decided whom should he support in BJP vs Congress.
Senior Congress leader Rajiv Shukla says that the party will deliver on all the polls promises and will implement all 10 poll guarantees. He said that the party was not 'afraid of BJP' Operation Lotus.' He said that there won't be such a scenario in Himchal as the final figures will show clear majority for Congress.
From Shimla to Delhi, it's party time for the Congress. In Shimla, Congress workers were seen distributing laddoos while those in Delhi were bursting crackers to celebrate the Himachal numbers.
The Election Commission says that the Congress is now leading in 40 seats of Himachal Pradesh. The BJP has been restricted to 24 seats, as per the trends by the poll panel. Three Independents are still leading in current trends.
Talking to reporters, Congress leader Vikramaditya Sing, who is leading from Shimla (rural) said that the party will get a clear mandate and is on its course to form a majority government in Himachal Pradesh. He also said that Pratibha Virbhadra Singh can be the next CM of Himachal Pradesh.
With the tight race continuing in Himachal Pradesh, the Congress has voiced it fears. Vikramaditya Singh, son of former CM Virbhadra Singh, who is leading from Shimla said that the Congress will do everything to protect 'democracy'. He said that the BJP can do anything when asked whether the party is thinking of shifting the winning MLAs out of Himachal.

Latest trends show that the Congress is leading on 38 seats. With this, the Congress has crossed the majority mark of 35 in trends. This also means that there is a clearer picture now as against the early trends that showed mixed results and a hung Assembly.
As of now, the current trends show that as many as 5 Independent candidates are leading in Himachal Pradesh. As we told you earlier, 3 are from the BJP and 1 is from Congress. The growing tally of the Independent candidates show that Himachal Pradesh is staring at a hung Assembly right now.
Latest reports say that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is in Shimla and she is monitoring the current situation in the hill state. At present, both Congress and BJP are leading on 30+ seats and the mandate can go either way.
