The Haryana Special Task Force (STF) has arrested four key members of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, a criminal group linked to shootings and murders in the United States, TOI reported. The arrests were made in connection with the murder of a Lawrence Bishnoi aide in California and an attack on another gangster.

Officials, according to TOI, said the four accused were active gang operatives and had recently returned to India after allegedly carrying out crimes abroad.

4 members of the Godara-Brar gang held in Haryana

According to the report, STF officers recovered four illegal, foreign-made firearms and eight live cartridges from the accused. An FIR was registered on January 10 at Nissing police station in Karnal district under sections related to organised crime and rash driving under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with multiple sections of the Arms Act.

Police said the shootings in the US were the result of a growing rift between the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and the Brar–Godara faction. On December 23, 2024, the accused allegedly planned and executed the murder of Sunil Yadav, also known as Goliya, in Stockton, California. Investigators said Yadav was targeted because he was suspected of passing information about Ankit Bhadu, who was killed by the Punjab Police in 2019.

Both Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar later claimed responsibility for Yadav’s killing. Until last year, both were part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The gang later split due to internal differences.

Fresno firing targeted Bishnoi associate

The same group is also accused of carrying out a shooting at a truck repair facility in Fresno, California, on October 18 last year. The target was Harry Boxer, a gangster and close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi.

During the attack, one of Boxer’s associates, Banwari Godara, was killed, while another suffered gunshot injuries. Police described the incident as part of the growing gang rivalry following the split.

STF officials said three of the four accused had returned to India from the US only months ago. Raman arrived via Mumbai airport on October 21, 2025, while Balraj alias Balram and Ravinder Singh alias Ravi returned in November.

On January 10, STF teams intercepted Raman and Lokesh while they were travelling in a bulletproof vehicle in Karnal. Two .30 Beretta pistols, one Zigana pistol, one 9mm pistol and eight live cartridges were seized.

Gang paid US shooters in cash

According toTimes of India, citing STF chief B Satheesh Balan, Raman had no criminal record in India before his arrest, apart from the arms recovery case. However, he made major disclosures about gang operations being run from the US. “He confessed that he, along with his Indian associates and an American accomplice, killed Sunil Yadav in California. The gang paid $2,500 to an American shooter for Yadav’s murder,” Balan said.

Speaking about the Fresno attack, Balan added, “In the October 2025 case, Raman, along with Balraj and Ravinder and three American associates, including one Will, planned and executed a firing on Harry Boxer. That’s because the three accused aligned with the Godara gang while Boxer continued with Lawrence Bishnoi.”

“While Harry survived, two of his associates were killed. Raman provided weapons to Will for the firing. Balraj and Ravinder were present at the spot. The gang paid $7,500 to Will,” he said.

STF officials said they received information that a member of the Rohit Godara gang had returned to India after spending nine years in the US and had purchased a bullet-proof SUV. After returning to India, Raman allegedly began making extortion calls to businessmen in Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. Police said they are verifying several incidents of firing at offices meant to intimidate victims who refused to pay.
