Amid the rumours of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Parel meeting, the latter finally cleared the air. Patel took to Twitter and said,”I have not met Rahul Gandhi yet but whenever we meet I will announce it to the whole nation. We will meet on his next Gujarat visit. Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” Rahul Gandhi was on Gujarat tour and had invited quota agitation leader Hardik Patel and Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani to meet him. The Congress Vice President’s visit came in the wake of PM Modi’s day-long visit to the poll-bound state on Sunday. Gandhi held a rally in Gujarat’s capital Gandhinagar after arriving in Ahmedabad in the afternoon.

The Congress vice president said this a day after Patidar leader Narendra Patel claimed in Ahmedabad that he was offered Rs 1 crore to join the BJP. Congress yesterday said that Election Commission should soon announce election dates for Gujarat and bring a model code of conduct into effect. As per ANI report, Hardik Patel on Tuesday said,”If BJP is so confident of winning around 150 seats then why the delay in election announcement?”
While the EC has not announced any poll dates so far, the Chief Election Commissioner had said that election will be held in December.
